Aate Ke Laddoo

Diwali, the festival of lights is celebrated on the 15th day of the Kartik month, which is considered as the holiest month in the Hindu lunar calendar.May this Diwali bring joy, happiness, and prosperity to all my friends. May their hearts be enlightened with brotherhood, peace, love and harmony.

Going down the memory lane, I recall that in my childhood-just before Diwali-the children used to make small mud houses (called Gharonda) with much zeal and enthusiasm around their houses. We went to Diwali fair and purchased colourful earthen toys, lai-chura(beaten rice)and sugar candy sweets . On the eve of Diwali we used to decorate these mud houses with flowers, candles and Diyas. Brimming with joy, the children burst firecrackers and feasted on different types of sweets and treats.

That was our style of celebrating Diwali 😊!! But innocence and simplicity of those days are now missing …
